ARIAD Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced, for the first time, data from its Phase 2 trial of Iclusig (ponatinib) in adult patients with refractory metastatic and/or unresectable gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST).
A new vaccine to prevent the deadly malaria infection has shown promise to protect the most vulnerable patients - young children - against the disease, according to an international team of researchers led by the University of Maryland School of Medicine's Center for Vaccine Development (CVD) and the Malaria Research and Training Center at the University of Bamako in Mali, West Africa.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is requiring that gadolinium-based contrast agents (GBCAs) carry new warnings on their labels about the risk of a rare and potentially fatal condition known as nephrogenic systemic fibrosis, if the drug is administered to certain patients with kidney disease.
Oxygen Biotherapeutics, Inc. today reported on the results of two University of Miami Miller School of Medicine studies involving the Company's third-generation perfluorocarbon, Oxycyte® perfluorocarbon emulsion. Both study reports showed that Oxycyte® has a marked neuroprotective effect in a rat model of spinal cord injury.
