The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation issued the following statement in response to an announcement by Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc. regarding promising results from a Phase 2 clinical trial of its cystic fibrosis drug Kalydeco in combination with another potential CF therapy, VX-661.
Sen. Mitch McConnell, the Senate's top Republican, "promised Sunday morning that he and his members will attend President Obama's health care summit on Thursday 'ready to participate' but said the Democrats are being 'arrogant' by refusing to scrap their legislation and start over," The Washington Post reports.
Marshall Edwards, Inc., an oncology company focused on the clinical development of novel therapeutics targeting cancer metabolism, announced today that the first cohort of patients has been dosed in a Phase I clinical trial of ME-344, the Company's lead mitochondrial inhibitor drug candidate, in patients with refractory solid tumors.
In the drug trial nightmare which has left six men very ill in a London Hospital two remain in intensive care and are not expected to make any early improvement, according to their doctor Ganesh Suntharalingham, Northwick Park Hospital's Clinical Director of Intensive Care.
