A national transplant policy change designed to give African-American patients greater access to donor kidneys has sliced in half the racial disparities that have long characterized the allocation of lifesaving organs, new Johns Hopkins research suggests.
Advanced Accelerator Applications S.A., a Novartis company and leader in nuclear medicine theragnostics, today announced that the first patients have been dosed in two Phase I/II clinical studies of radiolabeled PSMA-R2, a urea-based ligand of Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen, which is commonly expressed on prostate cancer cells.
The YAI Network (YAI), one of America's foremost non-profit organizations devoted to creating hope and opportunity for people with developmental and learning disabilities and their families, announced today the introduction of a new Web site at www.yai.org. The new site provides visitors with a crisp and clear presentation of the organization's mission and opportunities to engage with the network to support people with disabilities as well as access services and information.
Findings from a study published in the current issue of the journal Archives of Internal Medicine, when "taken together with other studies published over the last few years," show that beginning people living with HIV on highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) when their CD4 cell count is between 350 and 500 "appears to be beneficial over the long term.
