Alnara Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a pharmaceutical company developing novel, non-systemic orally-delivered protein therapeutics for the treatment of metabolic diseases, announced today that results from a landmark, international Phase 3 study of the long-term safety and nutritional benefits of liprotamase for the treatment of pancreatic insufficiency in patients with cystic fibrosis (CF) will be presented at the 23rd Annual North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference (NACFC) being held October 15-17, 2009 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The economic cost of methamphetamine use in the United States reached $23.4 billion in 2005, including the burden of addiction, premature death, drug treatment and many other aspects of the drug, according to a new RAND Corporation study.
The potential impact of undiagnosed sexually transmitted chlamydia infection on men's fertility has been highlighted in a study led by Queensland University of Technology (QUT), which for the first time found chlamydia in the testicular tissue biopsies of infertile men whose infertility had no identified cause.
UCSF scientists have identified patterns of brain activity in the rat brain that play a role in the formation and recall of memories and decision-making. The discovery, which builds on the team's previous findings, offers a path for studying learning, decision-making and post-traumatic stress syndrome.
