TriCore Reference Laboratories of Albuquerque, N.M., reported at a recent user meeting results of their research collaboration with Roche Applied Science in which they evaluated Roche´s new MagNA Pure 96 System for use in nucleic acid purification. The evaluation focused on the Roche system's ability to process specimens for pathogen testing.
Swaziland on Saturday held celebrations for King Mswati's 40th birthday and the country's 40th year of independence - an "extravaganza that contrasted sharply with the biting poverty" of the country - the AP/Chicago Tribune reports.
Research conducted at Montana State University shows that microbes in the human gut play an important role in protecting against arsenic toxicity, a problem that affects an estimated 200 million people who are exposed to arsenic through contaminated drinking water.
