XBiotech announced today interim results from its fast-tracked Phase III study being conducted in the US for its anti-cancer agent Xilonix.
A novel test that measures proteins from nerve damage that are deposited in blood and spinal fluid reveals the rate of progression of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in patients, according to researchers from Mayo Clinic's campus in Florida, Emory University and the University of Florida.
A large population-based study has found that lung function and obstructive airway diseases are strongly and independently associated with increased risk of heart failure. Importantly, say the investigators, this association was even evident in never-smokers and was still evident after adjustment for smoking status and number of years smoking. This, they add, indicates "that our results are not primarily confounded by smoking".
A new study published today in the journal Applied Physiology, Nutrition, and Metabolism looks beyond the much-feared weight gain common to first-year students and reports on the full 4-year impact of higher education on weight, BMI, and body composition.
RaySearch Laboratories AB has formed a US subsidiary named RaySearch Americas Inc. The new company will be located in New York and will market RaySearch's treatment planning system RayStation in the North American market.
