The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) today are announcing important steps to ensure that standards and guidelines on fluoride in drinking water continue to provide the maximum protection to the American people to support good dental health, especially in children.
Kaiser Permanente announced today that more than 60 nonprofit organizations from Kern to San Diego will receive grants totaling more than $750,000 to help fund a wide range of services for people with HIV and AIDS, including youth education, prevention, screening and treatment programs, as well as housing assistance and food pantries.
While the lasting effects of the economic recession will restrict the market in the short-term, growth in the world market for medical grade displays is forecast to accelerate from 2012 as the global economy improves and previously postponed hospital projects are initiated.
"In the last 20 years, the world has saved more than 50 million children's lives and reduced maternal mortality by one-third," "accomplishments [that] have been the result of good science, good management, bipartisan political support, the engagement of USAID and many other U.S. Government agencies, and the participation of faith-based organizations, civil society, and the private sector," according to a summary of USAID's "Global Health and Child Survival: Progress Report to Congress 2010-2011."
Australia's first licences allowing research using excess human embryos were issued today by the Embryo Research Licensing Committee of the National Health and Medical Research Council, (The NHMRC Licensing Committee).
