AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) lauded innovative New Jersey state health officials who were able to keep providing nearly 1,000 AIDS patients throughout the state with access to lifesaving antiretroviral medications with an 11th hour fix to a struggling state AIDS drug distribution program that was set to cut them from the program's eligibility rolls as of Sunday, August 1st.
Researchers at Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) and two other institutions have uncovered a vast new gene regulatory network in mammalian cells that could explain genetic variability in cancer and other diseases.
Seemingly healthy adults, if they were abused or neglected during childhood, may suffer physiological consequences decades later. In research published online last week by the journal Neuropsychopharmacology, a team led by psychiatrists at Brown University and Butler Hospital found that healthy adults who reported being mistreated as kids appear to have an elevated inflammatory response to stress compared to adults who had happier childhoods.
Aetna Better Health of Ohio, an Aetna health plan that administers benefits for Medicaid members, has been selected by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) to administer services in Ohio. The contract will be effective January 1, 2013.
