The International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC), the only global organization dedicated to the study of lung cancer, today announced the release of its Staging Atlas in Thoracic Oncology as a downloadable application for iPad, iPhone, Android or BlackBerry.
From 1999 through 2006 the use of diagnostic imaging for Medicare patients with cancer increased, with use of positron emission tomography increasing the most significantly, according to a study in the April 28 issue of JAMA. Imaging costs for these patients also increased, outpacing the rate of increase in total costs among Medicare beneficiaries with cancer.
Analogic Corporation, a leading provider of medical imaging and aviation security technology, announced today that its specialized ultrasound business, BK Medical, has introduced the Flex Focus 700™, a mobile ultrasound system designed primarily for ultrasound guided surgical procedures in the operating room.
