An average of one in 100 children in the United States has an autism spectrum disorder according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. While over the last few years an increasing number of these children have begun to receive early intervention services, research shows that high quality and intensive intervention are critical for positive outcomes.
Less than one third of healthcare workers have themselves vaccinated against classic influenza. This reluctance is astounding, firstly because vaccination against influenza viruses is considered safe and effective and secondly because it has been proved to prevent nosocomial transmission of disease to patients-provided at least 50% of employees have been vaccinated.
A first of its kind study is reporting that millions of women in low- and middle-income countries will need life-saving radiotherapy to treat their cervical cancer, despite the growth of essential human papilloma virus vaccination prevention programs.
Argos Therapeutics today announced the publication of a manuscript in the February edition of Clinical Immunology, detailing positive immune response, safety and manufacturing data for its AGS-004 immunotherapy for HIV. AGS-004 is a product of the Company's Arcelis™ technology, and is a personalized, RNA-loaded dendritic cell-based immunotherapy that is perfectly matched to each patient's unique HIV viral burden. The manuscript details a clinical study in which AGS-004 was evaluated in type-1 HIV-infected adults who were being treated with antiretroviral therapy (ART).
The Critical Path Institute and H. Lundbeck A/S are proud to announce that they will work together to significantly improve the scientific community's insight in Alzheimer's disease through Lundbeck's contribution of a unique set of clinical trial data from more than 2,500 AD patients to the Critical Path for Alzheimer's Disease consortium's integrated database for qualified researchers across the globe to access.
