A collaboration of French and Canadian researchers have found that sucking a portion of a spherical globule of cells into a tiny pipette provides information about the adhesion between cells and the elastic properties of the tissue. The method is a novel approach for the study of the structural properties of tissues, and should offer insights into processes such as embryonic development, tissue growth and cancer. A paper describing the research appears online in Physical Review Letters on May 24.
Over 1,000 children from Northern Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales, known as 'COVID Warriors' have had their antibodies measured in the UK-wide trial called 'Seroprevalence of SARS-Cov-2 infection in healthy children'.
HemaCare Corporation announced today that the Company generated 2011 second quarter revenue of $4.2 million from continuing operations and a net loss of $252,000, or $(0.03)/share, including net income from discontinued operations of $180,000 compared to second quarter 2010 revenue from continuing operations of $3.9 million and net income of $223,000, or $.02/share, including net income of $843,000 from discontinued operations.
