Dr. Eaton and his colleagues at the TransYouth Project have started the first large-scale, national study of socially-supported transgender kids.
Baxter International Inc. today announced the dosing of the first patients in a Phase I clinical trial of its lead investigational candidate, BAX 855, a longer-acting (PEGylated) form of a full-length recombinant factor VIII (rFVIII) protein.
SAFC, a member of the Sigma-Aldrich® Group (Nasdaq: SIAL), today announced the completion of its state-of-the-art expansion of its Jerusalem, Israel facility. The additional capacity expands SAFC's contract manufacturing capabilities in large molecule recombinant proteins and small molecule Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) through fermentation, including High Potent APIs (HPAPIs) and secondary metabolites.
A Japanese research team has become the first in the world to discover that 2-aminobutyric acid (2-AB) is closely involved in the metabolic regulation of the antioxidant glutathione, and that it can effectively raise levels of glutathione in the body when ingested. The findings were published in the online version of Scientific Reports on November 9.
