Genome technology to examine brown tides on the East Coast

NOAA has awarded Massachusetts-based Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution $120,000 as part of an anticipated three-year, nearly $500,000 project, to determine how nitrogen and phosphorus promote brown tides on the East Coast. Rett syndrome gene found to be full of surprises

A study funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has transformed scientists' understanding of Rett syndrome, a genetic disorder that causes autistic behavior and other disabling symptoms. Until now, scientists thought that the gene behind Rett syndrome was an "off" switch, or repressor, for other genes. But the new study, published today in Science, shows that it is an "on" switch for a startlingly large number of genes.

Medivir rights offering to raise approximately SEK 325 million

The Board of Directors has resolved on the terms for the rights offering, that the Board of Directors on 28 March 2010 resolved, subject to approval by the Annual General Meeting. For every share held in Medivir, regardless of share class, the holder is entitled to one subscription right. Four subscription rights entitle the holder to subscribe for one new class B share.
