Multiple myeloma dexamethasone / lenalidomide trial closes

The Southwest Oncology Group, the largest of several National Cancer Institute-sponsored clinical trials networks, has permanently closed enrollment in a trial comparing a standard drug therapy, dexamethasone, with a combined therapy of the same drug plus the drug lenalidomide (Revlimid) for people newly diagnosed with multiple myeloma.

Heart-healthy diet may benefit men after prostate cancer diagnosis

After a prostate cancer diagnosis, eating a diet higher in red and processed meat, high-fat dairy foods, and refined grains-known as a Western diet-may lead to a significantly higher risk of both prostate cancer-related mortality and overall mortality compared with eating a diet rich in vegetables, fruits, fish, whole grains, and healthy oils, according to a new study from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

WellApps releases Colonoscopy Prep Assistant

During the portion of colonoscopy preparation when a patient ingests a liquid laxative, Colonoscopy Prep Assistant tracks the number of glasses completed and time between glasses, notifying the patient when it's time to drink their next glass. Statement from Pelosi regarding Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act

Speaker Nancy Pelosi released the following statement in support of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act, which passed the House of Representatives today by a vote of 408 to 9. The Senate passed the bill earlier this week so the bill now goes to President Obama for his signature into law.
