CHMP grants positive opinion to extend the use of Angiox to patients undergoing PCI

The Medicines Company announced today that the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) has granted a positive opinion applicable to all Member States of the European Union/European Economic Area that will extend the use of Angiox (bivalirudin) to include patients with heart attacks (so-called ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI)) undergoing emergency heart procedures called primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

CryoLife, Inc., an implantable biological medical device and cardiovascular tissue processing company, announced today its results for the second quarter of 2010. Revenues for the second quarter increased 4 percent to a second quarter record of $29.3 million compared to $28.2 million for the second quarter of 2009. Net income for the second quarter of 2010 was $2.9 million, or $0.10 per basic and fully diluted common share, compared to $2.5 million, or $0.09 per basic and fully diluted common share, for the second quarter of 2009.
