Northwest Biotherapeutics, a U.S. biotechnology company developing DCVax® personalized immune therapies for solid tumor cancers, over the weekend in Chicago released promising new data on their Phase I trial of DCVax-Direct for direct injection into all types of inoperable solid tumors.

Although speculative, the pathologic changes in the heart of this 58 year-old veteran extreme endurance athlete may have been manifestations of "Phidippides cardiomyopathy," a condition caused by chronic excessive endurance exercise.
The Alcon Independent Director Committee today said that Alcon's impressive Q4/FY 2009 financial results underscore the intrinsic value of Alcon and reinforce its conclusion that the Novartis proposal is grossly inadequate.
