The rate of human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccination in the United States is increasing, but remains lower than ideal. A new study suggests that survivors of childhood cancer receive the HPV vaccine at an even lower rate than their peers without cancer ΜΆ 24% versus 40%. Nearly three quarters of study participants reported that their healthcare provider did not proactively recommend vaccination.
Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are one of the commonest agents prescribed for heart burn or acid reflux. On April 22, 2004, the Chinese Ministry of Health reported a possible case of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) in a 20-year-old woman who works as a nurse in a hospital in Beijing. If confirmed, this will be the first case of SARS since January 2004, when Chinese health authorities confirmed SARS coronavirus (SARS-CoV) infection in three persons in Guangdong Province.
