The incidence of kidney failure is 3 times higher in Black Americans than in whites, and the prevalence of chronic kidney disease continues to rise among Black Americans while it has stabilized in other racial groups.
Boehringer Ingelheim and Eli Lilly and Company today announced they will feature five oral and 12 poster presentations for linagliptin and the investigational compound empagliflozin* at the 49th Annual Meeting of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) which will take place in Barcelona, from 23 – 27 September. The presentations will add to the already existing body of data on safety and efficacy of these two compounds.
A new nonsteroidal, anti-inflammatory therapy made from a human protein significantly decreases disease signs of asthma in mice, opening the possibility of a new asthma therapy for patients who do not respond to current steroid treatments. Results of this therapy in an animal model were presented at The Endocrine Society's 92nd Annual Meeting in San Diego.
