While all names have been suppressed to protect the identities of those involved, the case has caught the imagination of the media. "Dr N" who admitted to professional misconduct before the Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal was reported to have appealed to the High Court against being struck off by The Weekend Herald on Saturday. Researchers from Yale-NUS College have partnered with researchers from the National University of Singapore and SingHealth Group to develop a novel Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) worm strain which expresses an amyloid beta protein fragment involved in the development of human Alzheimer's Disease (AD).
Investigators from the University of Minnesota have found a direct association between parenting style and the frequency of meals eaten together as a family and that an authoritative parenting style was associated with more frequent family meals. Their data further indicated that family meals have a positive influence on adolescents to eat a healthy diet. The results of the study are published in the July issue of the Journal of the American Dietetic Association.
