Gerard E. The University of Nottingham is to lead a £6.5m research project which aims to make the leap from 2D to 3D in the development of advanced materials and realise the true potential of regenerative medicine and medical devices for the future.
In studies with mice and rats, researchers have found that a chemical messenger called NAPE is made in the small intestine after the animals ate a greasy meal. After eating, NAPE - N-acylphosphatidylethanolamine, a mouthful in itself - enters the blood and travels to the brain, where it quashes hunger signals.
President Obama's call during the State of the Union address for a better approach to health care reform is answered today with the release of a new publication from the Institute for Policy Innovation (IPI) entitled, "Health Care Reform: What Now?"
