Scientists at Los Alamos and international partners have created the first 3-D images of a special type of RNA molecule that is critical for stem cell programming and known as the "dark matter" of the genome.
Patheon Inc., a global provider of drug development and manufacturing services to the international pharmaceutical industry, announced today that it intends to commence a private placement of $280 million in aggregate principal amount of senior secured notes due 2017. The net proceeds of the Offering will be used to repay all of the outstanding indebtedness under the company's existing senior secured term loan and asset-based revolving credit facility, to repay certain other indebtedness and to pay related fees and expenses.
The Washington Post: "In an attempt to address a national shortage of health-care workers, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said Wednesday that the federal government will spend $250 million in programs to increase the number of doctors, nurses and other care providers. The money ... includes $168 million to train 500 new primary-care physicians over the next five years, $30 million to encourage 600 nursing students to attend school full-time and complete their education, and $32 million to create 600 new physician assistants."
