Approximately 143,000 young people aged 12 to 17 used inhalants in the past year while dealing with a condition like pneumonia, bronchitis, asthma, or sinusitis, according to a new study sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The study determined that the rate of use was 4.4 percent among adolescents who had at least one of the aforementioned respiratory conditions, similar to the rate among adolescents overall (4.1 percent).
A new study led by a team at the Research Institute of the MUHC in Montreal has revealed that pregnant women with rheumatoid arthritis may be able to use certain RA drugs without possible increased health risks to their unborn babies.
A tool developed by researchers from UPM allows us to assess usability during the design and testing process of accessible ICT-based applications.
Host genetics play a role in disease progression and prognosis. A paper recently uploaded to the preprint server medRxiv by Dubé et al. (1st March 2021) identifies several alleles associated with the gene natriuretic peptide receptor C (NPR3) that may impact disease severity.
