Decisions to prescribe children drugs to treat chronic pain are not guided by sufficient, high quality evidence, according to an important new study published today (Wednesday 26 June 2019).
Decision Resources, one of the world's leading research and advisory firms for pharmaceutical and healthcare issues, finds that, despite potential safety concerns, Jazz Pharmaceuticals/UCB's sodium oxybate (JZP-6) will account for more than 15 percent of the fibromyalgia drug market in 2018 in the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and Japan. Sodium oxybate has demonstrated robust efficacy in Phase III clinical trials for fibromyalgia and interviewed thought leaders are impressed with its effect on several key symptom domains of fibromyalgia, which include pain, sleep and fatigue.

Paradise Tanning in Tannersville and East Stroudsburg have a set of rules they follow when it comes to allowing young people to tan. Most salons agree that preventing under age tanning is the parents' responsibility.
Pfizer Inc has been named among the 2009 Working Mother 100 Best Companies for its steadfast commitment to family-friendly benefits. Pfizer and the other winning companies are pioneering programs that support families, with 100 percent offering flextime, on-site lactation and telecommuting; and 98 percent offering job-sharing and wellness programs—numbers that dwarf those seen nationwide. In addition, financial programs available to the 100 Best employees are on the rise, a much needed boost for families in today's economy.
A report released last week by the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues examining federally sponsored research involving human volunteers, called "Moral Science: Protecting Participants in Human Subjects Research," said that "current rules and regulations provide adequate safeguards to mitigate risk," "recommended 14 changes to current practices to better protect research subjects, and called on the federal government to improve its tracking of research programs supported with taxpayer dollars," according to a Commission press release.
