Democrats in the Senate are gearing up to fight President Donald Trump's nominee to the Supreme Court, U.S. Circuit Judge Brett Kavanaugh. They argue he is not only a potential threat to abortion rights, but also to the Affordable Care Act.
Lois Quam, executive director of the Obama administration's Global Health Initiative (GHI), talked about GHI projects and "defended the program even if her panel was met with some hard questions" during a presentation on Tuesday at the annual Global Health Council conference in Washington, D.C., GlobalPost's "Global Pulse" blog reports.
A select subgroup of advanced head and neck cancer patients treated with radiation therapy plus the chemotherapy drug cisplatin had more positive outcomes than patients treated with radiation therapy alone and continued to show positive results 10 years post-treatment, according to a study presented at the Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Cancer Symposium, sponsored by AHNS, ASCO, ASTRO and SNM.
Using a portable, non-invasive imaging device, a team of Duke Medicine doctors have identified swelling in the back of the eyes of premature infants that correlates with poorer neurodevelopment as the babies grow.
