Emergency Medical Services Corporation today announces results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2010.
New technologies are emerging daily to help people plan, monitor, and enhance their health and fitness activities. Starting today, Best Buy customers in select markets from Washington, DC to Denver can turn to the nation's largest consumer electronics retailer for help in satisfying their health and fitness equipment and management needs.
Till date all attempts to get drugs into the brain were countered by the blood-brain barrier - the natural defense against potentially harmful chemicals floating around the body. However this new finding from a team from University of Oxford shows that now scientists have successfully switched off a gene implicated in Alzheimer's disease in the brains of mice by exploiting tiny particles naturally released by cells, called exosomes.
BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. today announced that the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) in the UK has completed review of the Clinical Trial Application (CTA) and issued a notice of acceptance for the Phase 3 trial of N-acetylgalactosamine 6-sulfatase (GALNS) for the treatment of Mucopolysaccharidosis IVA (MPS IVA). The company expects to initiate the Phase 3 pivotal trial early in the first quarter of 2011.
