Certain types of video games can help to train the brain to become more agile and improve strategic thinking, according to scientists from Queen Mary University of London and University College London (UCL).
YM BioSciences Inc., today announced the publication of Phase I results demonstrating that CYT997, a novel vascular disrupting agent (VDA), was well tolerated at doses that were associated with pharmacodynamic evidence of vascular disruption in tumors. The article entitled "Phase I trial of CYT997, a novel cytotoxic and vascular-disrupting agent," was published in the premier cancer journal, the British Journal of Cancer.
Delegates at the close of the fourth Tokyo International Conference on African Development in Yokohama, Japan, on Friday agreed to focus on health issues, including HIV/AIDS, on the continent, the Kyodo News/TMCnet reports. In the Yokohama declaration, delegates also pledged to pay "special attention" to issues - such as health, poverty and food insecurity - that are hindering African development.
UT Southwestern scientists successfully employed a new type of gene therapy to treat mice with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), uniquely utilizing CRISPR-Cas9-based tools to restore a large section of the dystrophin protein that is missing in many DMD patients.
