"Southern African governments could use public spending in their battle against the extremely high rates of HIV/AIDS in their countries and still achieve a positive economic impact, argues a new paper from the African Development Bank (AfDB)," an AfDB press release states.
CytRx Corporation, a biopharmaceutical research and development company specializing in oncology, announced today that it has reached an agreement with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration under a special protocol assessment for a global pivotal Phase 3 trial with aldoxorubicin as a treatment for patients with soft tissue sarcomas who have relapsed or were refractory following prior treatment with chemotherapy.
Computational modeling increases our knowledge of lipoprotein properties that cannot be measured using experimental methods. Lipoproteins are particles that transport cholesterol in our bloodstream. According to the doctoral dissertation of Master of Science in Technology Linda Kumpula (Aalto University School of Science), the differences in the composition, size and number of lipoprotein particles transporting cholesterol in individuals can be computationally modeled using experimental data.
