A study published today in Neuron offers the first evidence that lack of this protein - known as RIM1 alpha - causes profound deficits in the learning process. The discovery is a major step in understanding the molecular events that underlie learning and memory - complex processes that can be impaired in human neuropsychiatric disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, mental retardation and schizophrenia.
Chiasma, Inc., a U.S. late-stage biopharmaceutical company, today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has accepted for filing the Company's New Drug Application (NDA) for the marketing and sale of octreotide capsules, an oral drug proposed for the maintenance therapy of adult patients with acromegaly.
Cardiome Pharma Corp. announced the final results of its modified "Dutch Auction" tender offer to purchase for cancellation up to US$27.5 million of its common shares (the "Offer"), which expired at 5:00 p.m. (Eastern time) on October 13, 2009.
