Researchers at UT Southwestern Medical Center have determined that the level, or saturation, of oxygen in blood could be used to identify children with sickle cell anemia who are at an increased risk of stroke.
With the support of a $545,000 three-year grant from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, researchers from the School of Science at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis are conducting research on how the brain's reward system - the circuitry that helps regulate the body's ability to feel pleasure - is hijacked by alcohol.
As the 21st century progresses, rising atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) concentrations will cause urban and indoor levels of the gas to increase, and that may significantly reduce our basic decision-making ability and complex strategic thinking, according to a new CU Boulder-led study.
Protectus Medical Devices, Inc. ("Protectus Medical Devices"), a developer and marketer of innovative medical devices, today announced the signing of a three-year manufacturing agreement with Moll Industries, Inc. to provide injection molded plastic manufacturing services for the Protectus Safety Syringe.
