After recent research from campaigning organization Greenpeace found the S-26 Soy brand of infant formula contains GM or genetically modified ingredients that are not disclosed on the product label, two Senators are urging the Federal Government to tighten Australia's food labeling laws.
Genomic Health, Inc. today announced the publication of positive results from a large international study which demonstrated that the Oncotype DX® breast cancer Recurrence Score® (RS) result is a significant independent predictor of distant recurrence in both node-negative and node-positive, hormone receptor-positive, postmenopausal breast cancer patients who are treated with either anastrozole or tamoxifen.
Vanguard Health Systems and Arizona Heart Institute (AHI) announced today that they have signed a definitive agreement for Vanguard to acquire Arizona Heart Institute, one of the world's leading providers of cardiovascular care. Through this agreement, AHI will align with Abrazo Health Care, a Phoenix-based subsidiary of Vanguard, to become part of its distributive cardiovascular network of community-based physicians, providing future opportunities to greatly expand cardiovascular services and patient base throughout the region.
For patients over the age of 50, a routine physical exam at the doctor's office typically covers a wide spectrum of medical biomarkers with one glaring exception, cognitive health. Unless there have been unusual mental changes or challenges in their daily life, tests of a patient's attention, memory or brain processing speed is usually not part of a check-up.
A U.N. expert on Monday "urged Vietnam ... to close down its compulsory rehabilitation centers for sex workers and drug users, stressing that detention and forced treatment violate their right to health and perpetuate stigmatization and discrimination of those groups in the society," the U.N. News Centre reports.
