Heart diseases are one of the major causes of death in the western world. Research is under way in the University of Leicester Engineering Department, in collaboration with The Leicester Royal Infirmary, to analyse the heart rate variability of 10 year- old children, in an attempt to identify heart diseases at an early stage.
Michael Baum, Professor emeritus of surgery at University College London says that, while deaths from breast cancer may be avoided, any benefit will be more than outweighed by deaths due to the long term adverse effects of treatment.
OSI Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced today that its 2% Convertible Senior Subordinated Notes due 2025 (the "notes") are convertible at the option of the holders and will remain convertible at least through July 6, 2010, as provided for in the Indenture governing the notes.
Study results indicate that bipolar disorder may occur in up to half of individuals with co-existing borderline personality disorder and depression.
