In the first study to gauge the risks of contracting HIV and hepatitis in Rhode Island prisons, Brown University researchers found that a significant number of men get the hepatitis B virus behind bars – a finding that led the team to call for prison-wide vaccinations. Results are published in the current edition of the American Journal of Public Health.
Low levels of vitamin D were associated with higher rates of end-stage renal disease in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, or lupus, according to new research findings presented this week at the 2017 ACR/ARHP Annual Meeting in San Diego.
Data from the PRospective Observational cohort Study on patients with Inflammatory bowel disease receiving Therapy with BIOsimilars (PROSIT-BIO) in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD) has been presented at the Italian Group for the Study of IBD (IG-IBD), VII National Congress, Palermo, Italy.
