There is no danger if your child received the H1N1 vaccine that was recalled by Sanofi Pasteur. That is the information being provided to anyone calling the NJ Poison Control Center's hotline, according to Bruce Ruck, Pharm.D., Director of Drug Information and Professional Education. The public should be reassured that this recall took place because specific lots were found to be slightly weaker than they should have been.
Collaborative research from Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania has shown that psoriasis patients have an increased risk of heart attack, stroke and cardiovascular death, especially if the psoriasis is moderate to severe. Now, Penn researchers have discovered the potential underlying mechanism by which the inflammatory skin disease impacts cardiovascular health.
In September 2014, President Obama issued an executive order for "Combating Antibiotic- Resistant Bacteria." Why the urgency? The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the order noted, "estimates that annually at least 2 million illnesses and 23,000 deaths are caused by antibiotic- resistant bacteria in the United States alone."
Conquer the Corrugations is a Cape York Mental Health Awareness Walk that stretches 42 kilometers from the Coen Information Centre to the Archer River Roadhouse. The goal of the walk is to raise awareness, to support and to remember those affected by mental illness.
On World Malaria Day (April 25), the U.N. "warned ... that malaria maintains its impact on less developed countries, mainly in Africa, where millions of people lack needed attention," and in a message marking the day, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon "urged political leaders and health authorities of states where malaria is endemic to keep their commitment to achieve universal access to prevention and treatment of malaria".
