A tick species associated with bats has been reported for the first time in New Jersey and could pose health risks to people, pets and livestock, according to a Rutgers-led study in the Journal of Medical Entomology.
RTI International Metals, Inc., today announced its intention to offer, subject to market and other conditions, approximately $175 million principal amount of convertible senior notes due December 1, 2015 in an offering registered under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended (the "Securities Act"). Upon conversion, RTI will deliver or pay, as the case may be, shares of RTI common stock, cash or a combination of cash and shares of RTI common stock, at RTI's election.
With the increase in childhood obesity and the associated increase in type 2 diabetes among children and adolescents, there is growing interest in how children's bodies process the foods they eat and how obesity and diabetes begin to develop at early ages.
A paper published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine presents the results from a study which examined the use of an infrared thermal imaging camera as a novel non-invasive point-of-care tool for lymphatic filariasis lower-limb lymphoedema.
With the use of a highly sensitive test, detection of the blood biomarker cardiac troponin T, a cardiac-specific protein, is associated with structural heart disease and an increased risk of all-cause death, according to a study in the December 8 issue of JAMA.
