Angiotech Pharmaceuticals, Inc., today announced the commercial launch of the Tan EndoGlide(TM) Endothelium Insertion System in the United States. Angiotech holds exclusive U.S. distribution rights to market and distribute the Tan EndoGlide Endothelium Insertion System, which it obtained in a supply agreement with privately held Network Medical Products, Ltd. Angiotech will launch the product during the American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting, to be held in San Francisco, CA on October 24-27, 2009.
MAP Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced that the Company will present nine analyses relating to its LEVADEX™ orally inhaled migraine therapy product candidate, including analysis from the FREEDOM-301 Phase 3 trial, at the 2010 European Headache and Migraine Trust International Congress (EHMTIC) in Nice, France.
A new University of Colorado at Boulder study shows the resistance of the avian flu virus to a major class of antiviral drugs is increasing through positive evolutionary selection, with researchers documenting the trend in more than 30 percent of the samples tested.

When flu season arrives this fall, a liquid form of Tamiflu—the most widely used anti-viral flu medication—will be available in a new, lower concentration to reduce the possibility of medication errors.
