Collegium Pharmaceutical, Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company, today announced that a new patent has been issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) relating to its tamper-resistant DETERx™ formulation platform. US Patent Number 7,771,707 contains claims that cover Collegium's proprietary extended-release formulations, which are designed to resist dose dumping when subjected to a variety of physical methods of tampering.
Tocagen Inc. today announced the publication of data showing the company's investigational treatment for high grade glioma eradicates brain tumors and provides a dramatic survival benefit in mouse models of glioblastoma.
Nevirapine is considered to be an effective drug that can prevent HIV infection in babies born to mothers with HIV. However a new study shows that only about half of babies born to mothers with HIV receive the drug.
