Numerous studies have suggested that job loss and unemployment lead to poorer health. Sociologists at the University of Bamberg are now continuing this research and have set out to answer whether job loss still has health-related consequences even if it occurred decades ago and subsequent employment may have been found.

In a new research report, scientists from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and the University of Wisconsin-Madison show that the risk for skin cancer involves numerous genetic factors including family history, ethnicity, and genetic variations specific to each individual.
Swedish researchers have found a link between eating processed meat, such as bacon or sausages, and pancreatic cancer. They said eating an extra 50g of processed meat, approximately one sausage, every day would increase a person's risk of getting pancreatic cancer by 19%. But the chance of developing the rare cancer remains low they added.
Forest Laboratories, Inc. announced that Forest Laboratories Holdings Limited, its wholly owned subsidiary, has entered into a definitive collaboration and distribution agreement for Bystolic® (nebivolol) and Savella® (milnacipran HCl) in Canada with Janssen Pharmaceutica, NV and Janssen Pharmaceutical respectively, on behalf of Janssen Inc., which will market the products in Canada.
