The International Metastatic Renal-Cell Carcinoma Database has been externally validated and is now ready for application, researchers report.
People have increasing opportunities to participate in genetic testing that can indicate their range of risk for developing a disease. Receiving these results does not appreciably drive up or diminish test recipients' demand for potentially costly follow-up health services, according to a study performed by researchers at the National Institutes of Health and colleagues at other institutions.
Working with researchers from the University of Michigan and Indiana University, Van Andel Research Institute investigators have developed a method that could be used to predict whether pancreatic cysts are benign or are precursors to invasive cancer.
Pathway Medical Technologies, Inc., an innovator of endovascular treatments for peripheral vascular disease (PVD), today announced a 172 percent growth over the last two quarters with its Jetstream peripheral revascularization catheters at more than 150 centers of excellence in the United States.
A new voter survey sponsored by the ACT-AD Coalition (Accelerate Cure/Treatments for Alzheimer's Disease) finds that three-quarters of Americans nationwide and across party lines say it is personally important to them to find a cure or to prevent Alzheimer's disease, while a similar proportion of the national electorate say they look to Congress to make it "a national priority" to speed up the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) review process in specific ways for therapies that slow, halt or reverse the disease.
