Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Eli Lilly and Company and Alkermes, Inc. today announced positive results from a head-to-head study comparing exenatide once weekly, an investigational diabetes therapy, to BYETTA® (exenatide) injection taken twice daily, in patients with type 2 diabetes.
Sanofi-aventis and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. announced that the Phase III VELOUR trial evaluating the investigational agent ZALTRAP, also known as VEGF Trap, in combination with the FOLFIRI chemotherapy regimen versus a regimen of FOLFIRI plus placebo met its primary endpoint of improving overall survival in the second-line treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer.
Malaria is one of the world's deadliest diseases: it infects hundreds of millions of people every year, and kills about half a million, most of them under five years of age.
