Rasmussen College is partnering with the American Nurses Association (ANA) to honor the contributions and commitment of America's 3.1 million registered nurses during National Nurses Week, May 6-12. Throughout the week, Rasmussen will host a number of community events supporting this year's theme, "Nurses: Advocating, Leading, Caring."
A number of Hispanic organizations have united to address major problems with the health care legislation passed in the U.S. House of Representatives and urge the Senate to come up with a bipartisan solution for real healthcare reform. They are especially concerned the health care legislation will create a greater tax burden and unfair government mandates on Hispanic small businesses and families. During this critical health care debate, these organizations want their voices to be heard and believe that the current approach will lead to loss of jobs and reduced wages for Hispanic workers.
The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that a "health care overhaul faces a tough sell among the Louisiana delegation:" "Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., said the bill pending ... isn't aggressive enough in trying to curb rising health care costs. But she also said that doing nothing is not an option with so many Louisiana families and small businesses unable to afford health coverage.
Affymax, Inc. and Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited , today announced that following pre-New Drug Application (NDA) discussions with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the companies will move forward with their regulatory strategy for the investigational drug, peginesatide, for the treatment of anemia in chronic renal failure (CRF) patients on dialysis in the United States.
