The international study "Resistance to targeted therapies as a multifactorial, gradual adaptation to inhibitor specific selective pressures", recently published in the scientific journal Nature Communication, has taken a further step in the development of new therapeutic strategies to treat lung cancer.
Scientists have found a single protein-Ptbp2-controls a network of over 200 genes central to how developing sperm move and communicate. The protein works by regulating how RNA is processed during each stage of sperm development.
eMix, a new business venture incubated by DR Systems, announced a partial list of medical facilities across the country that are participating in beta trials of eMix, the cloud-based technology for sharing imaging studies and reports.
Reuters reports on how some health experts worry that growing complacency about the threat of measles in Africa is contributing to "some of the largest and most deadly outbreaks in years." To date, paraquat, maneb and ziram - common chemicals sprayed in California's Central Valley and elsewhere - have been tied to increases in the disease, not only among farmworkers but in individuals who simply lived or worked near fields and likely inhaled drifting particles.
