Urologists at Henry Ford Hospital have developed a new technique that could make minimally invasive robotic partial nephrectomy procedures the norm, rather than the exception for kidney cancer patients. The technique spares the kidney, eliminates long hospital stays and provides better outcomes by giving the surgeon more time to perform the procedure.
When B lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell in the immune system geared for fighting diseases) turn cancerous, they become part of the problem, and need to be eliminated.
The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, the USC Brain and Creativity Institute and Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA) are delighted to announce a longitudinal research collaboration to investigate the emotional, social and cognitive effects of musical training on childhood brain development.
More than 10 per cent of weightlifters, in a study conducted by Southern Cross University in northern NSW, believe that they are too small, and may suffer from a psychological disorder known as muscle dysmorphia. Tthe psychological condition has been nicknamed as "reverse anorexia" or "manorexia." and is usually characterized by sufferers being determined to become more muscular, despite some exhibiting more muscles than the average person.
