Obesity during pregnancy puts women at higher risk of a multitude of challenges. But, according to a new study presented earlier this month at the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine annual convention, fetal growth restriction, or the poor growth of a baby while in the mother's womb, is not one of them. In fact, study authors from the University of Rochester Medical Center found that the incidence of fetal growth restriction was lower in obese women when compared to non-obese women.
Research from Journal of Health Care Chaplaincy, the official journal of the Association of Professional Chaplains and a publication from Routledge, aims to better understand doctors' attentiveness to patients'/families' spiritual concerns as well as doctors' attitudes towards referrals to chaplains.
The U.S. affiliate of Ipsen today announced that the New England Journal of Medicine has published clinical trial results showing that Somatuline Autogel / Somatuline Depot (lanreotide) Injection 120 mg (referred to as Somatuline) achieved statistically significant prolongation of progression free survival (PFS) over placebo in patients with metastatic gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs).
A research study headed by Victoria Leavitt, Ph.D. and James Sumowski, Ph.D., of Kessler Foundation, provides the first evidence for beneficial effects of aerobic exercise on brain and memory in individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS).
