Protein Sciences Corporation announced today that Astellas Pharma has submitted an application for marketing approval of recombinant influenza HA vaccine ASP7374 (marketed as FlublokĀ® in the United States by Protein Sciences) to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in Japan for the prevention of influenza.
Existing plans for antiviral and antibiotic use during a severe influenza pandemic could reduce wastewater treatment efficiency prior to discharge into receiving rivers, resulting in water quality deterioration at drinking water abstraction points.
Researchers in the Department of Pathology at Stony Brook University School of Medicine have discovered a laboratory method to expand adult hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) using the SALL4 gene. Professor Yupo Ma, M.D., Ph.D., Lead Author, and colleagues used this method to produce a more than 10,000-fold increase in HSCs derived from normal human bone marrow.
The Society for Academic Emergency Medicine today released a "Statement on Diversity and Inclusion" which commits to the goal of promoting equity, diversity and inclusion in emergency medicine.
