A new NPR/Robert Wood Johnson Foundation/Harvard School of Public Health poll released today that examines the role of stress in Americans' lives finds that about half of the public (49%) reported that they had a major stressful event or experience in the past year. Nearly half (43%) reported that the most stressful experiences related to health.
Exercise cannot reduce a sodium-retaining hormone in African Americans known to potentially cause hypertension, found Michael D. Brown, Ph.D., the senior author of a study in the September issue of Experimental Physiology. Brown is an associate professor of kinesiology at Temple University's College of Health Professions.
As experts from around the world met in New York this week they discussed the need for greater understanding of the threat posed by ticks, fleas and sand flies.
