A link between erectile dysfunction and heart attacks will be made by Professor Mike Kirby at the University of Hertfordshire Health and Human Sciences Research Institute Showcase today.
According to Millennium Research Group (MRG), the global authority on medical technology market intelligence, a combination of increased volume from current practitioners and growth in the number of surgeons performing the technique will drive the single-port laparoscopy market to over 100% growth over the next year, and to high double-digit growth past 2011.
HIV-positive head and neck cancer patients respond well to radiation therapy treatments and experience similar toxicity rates as non-HIV-positive patients, despite prior reports to the contrary, according to a study in the January issue of the International Journal of Radiation Oncology•Biology•Physics, an official journal of the American Society for Radiation Oncology.
Although maintaining good blood sugar control is crucial for avoiding complications of diabetes, it has been estimated that only about half of patients are successful in meeting target blood glucose levels.
They call it "Conan the Bacterium," and now it may be used to help save lives in the event of a nuclear disaster or terrorist attack.
