Rice University biochemists are developing a system of "evolutionary forecasting" to better understand the mechanisms of antibiotic resistance.
CEL-SCI Corporation announced today that it has commenced its global Phase III clinical trial for Multikine, the Company's flagship immunotherapy, at the Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India, the first clinical site in India.
Prophylactic salpingo-oophorectomy-removal of the ovaries and fallopian tubes-reduces the relative risk of breast cancer by approximately 50 percent and the risk of ovarian and fallopian tube cancer by approximately 80 percent in women who carry a mutation in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene, researchers report in the January 13 online issue of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
Researchers from the University of Warwick, in collaboration with other universities and institutes in Edinburgh, France and Italy, have for the first time been able to show exactly how, when a baby suckles at a mother's breast, it starts a chain of events that leads to surges of the "trust" hormone oxytocin being released in their mothers brains.
