Research shows UNC1062 blocks Mer survival signaling in melanoma cells

Collaborative research presented by the University of Colorado Cancer Center, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Harvard Medical School and the University of Pittsburgh, at the American Association for Cancer Research Annual Conference, shows that the protein receptor Mer is overexpressed in melanoma and that the investigational drug UNC1062 blocks Mer survival signaling in these cells, killing them.

Increased potassium/sodium in diet may decrease risk of hypertension, coronary heart disease and stroke

A new article indicates that an increased intake in minerals such as potassium, and possibly magnesium and calcium by dietary means may reduce the risk of high blood pressure and decrease blood pressure in people with hypertension. A high intake of these minerals in the diet may also reduce the risk of coronary heart disease and stroke.

Fear of movement affects 20% of patients with coronary artery disease

A doctoral thesis at Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, Sweden, has found that one out of five patients with coronary artery disease experience such a great fear of movement (kinesiophobia) that their health may suffer as a result.

Shire plc, the global specialty biopharmaceutical company, announces that it has settled all pending litigation with Sandoz, Inc. ("Sandoz") in connection with Sandoz's Abbreviated New Drug Application ("ANDA") and its attempt to market generic versions of Shire's ADDERALL XR(R) (mixed amphetamine salts) for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

State licensure is required in each state in which a PT practices.
