According to a newly published study, consuming moderate amounts of alcohol during pregnancy may cause some distinct facial changes in babies. These subtle changes in the facial features of the babies are non-detectable with the naked eye said researchers. They can be detected using a 3D analysis they said. The changes in the facial features of the babies included those to the nose, lips and eyes that were picked up by the computer. These changes could be seen in babies whose mothers took any amount of alcohol during pregnancy.

Currently, there's no cure, but scientists are reporting a novel approach that reversed Parkinson's-like symptoms in rats.
The number of people with diabetes has increased from 108 million in 1980 to a staggering 422 million in 2014. In 2016, an estimated 1.6 million deaths were directly caused by diabetes, while another 2.2 million deaths were tied to high blood glucose.

Now, in Pennsylvania, Republican Gov. Tom Corbett has reduced Pennsylvania's 2 million adult Medicaid patients to basic dental care - eliminating root canals, periodontal disease work and limiting the number of dentures a patient can receive. The plan now covers little more than cleanings, fillings - and extractions."
