Actoplus Met and Actos: Mylan enters into settlement agreements with Takeda Pharmaceutical

Mylan Inc. today announced that it has entered into settlement agreements with Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. related to two treatments for type 2 diabetes: Actoplus Met®, 15 mg/500 mg and 15 mg/850 mg, known generically as Pioglitazone Hydrochloride (HCl) and Metformin HCl Tablets, and Actos®, 15 mg, 30 mg and 45 mg, known generically as Pioglitazone HCl Tablets.

Elekta releases Atlas-based Autosegmentation 2.0 software for increasing contouring accuracy

Elekta recently launched ABAS (Atlas-based Autosegmentation) 2.0 software, which includes the Simultaneous Truth and Performance Level Estimation (STAPLE) algorithm to increase contouring accuracy. ABAS—considered the industry gold standard for autosegmentation accuracy—deforms atlases of anatomy previously defined on a reference image onto a new patient image, creating a new structure set fit to the patient anatomy and enhancing planning efficiency.

Royal Philips Electronics today announced that Philips iDose4, the latest generation of Philips iterative reconstruction technique, has nearly 500 sales. While iDose4 only began shipping in March, its success validates the desire of radiologists to be able to both acquire and reconstruct images in less time, with improved image quality at low dose.

State licensure is required in each state in which a PT practices.
